Chelsea will release several players at the end of this season and as per Football London, N’Golo Kante is one of the players who is going to leave.

The French international’s contract is going to expire at the end of June and a few months ago, everyone was confident that he will sign a new deal with the club.

However, that does not seem to be the case right now because the Blues are planning to release him, primarily because the new manager thinks he has enough defensive midfielders.

The Blues have signed Enzo Fernandez for a lot of money so it makes no sense to offer an ageing N’Golo Kante a new contract, especially when he’s become so injury prone in recent times.

Will N’Golo Kante join Arsenal in the summer?

N’Golo Kante might be 32 years old but he’s still one of the best defensive midfielders around which is probably why Mikel Arteta wants to sign him up.

Arteta will release Granit Xhaka in the summer because he wants to bring in Declan Rice from West Ham United but someone like Kante can very easily play as the backup central midfielder next season.

Chelsea have a massive squad which means they have no other option but to offload a bunch of players in the summer but the Gunners have one of the smallest squads this season so Arteta can afford to make one or two extra signings.

N’Golo Kante has won every major trophy there is to win including the Champions League and the FIFA World Cup and his experience will come really handy when Arsenal get back in Europe next season.

Arsenal aren’t the only ones who want the midfielder because Barcelona have also been linked with him but we think the Frenchman will want to remain in the Premier League.

Chelsea will hopefully release their retention list at the start of next month and we expect Kante’s name to not be in it.
