Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been named the “Footballer of the Year” by the Football Writer’s Association. The Frenchman burst onto the Premier League scene last year with Leicester City. After winning the title with the Foxes, Kante moved to Chelsea this season in a 32 million pound transfer. And he has been having the same kind of impact as last season.

Chelsea are on the verge of winning the Premier League title and Kante has had a major role to play in it. He has been showered with praises and accolades all throughout the season. And the Player of the Year award is just another feather to his crown.

Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard came second in the list of the Footballer of the Year.  The Football Writer’s Association has a strong membership of 340 personnel. And both Kante and Hazard jointly picked up 65 percent of the total votes. This just goes to show the amount of effect these two guys have had for Chelsea in the current season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli came in third on the list after Kante and Hazard.
