There’s no doubt that Nico Williams has become one of the most talked-about footballers this summer and according to SPORT’s journalist Toni Juanmartí, the youngster is going to take a call on his future very soon.

Barcelona are obviously standing at the front of the queue but over the course of the summer transfer window, the Catalans have been joined by the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and most recently PSG.

Nico Williams has a €58 million release clause in his Bilbao contract and after the season he’s just had with club and country, none of the interested clubs are willing to back off from this transfer race. However, the buzz in Spain is that the suitors won’t have to wait too long because the winger should decide what his next destination is going to be by the end of this weekend.

Which club is Nico Williams going to choose?

There’s always a possibility that Williams might opt to remain at Athletic Bilbao for one more season and continue his progress but we all know that is not going to happen.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are very confident they will be able to land the Spanish international. Nico Williams is priority number one for Barca and Laporta has made it clear that the club has the money to sign big targets like him.

However, there are growing fears amongst the Barca hierarchy that if Williams chooses PSG over them, they will massively struggle to change his mind. Neither can they afford to outbid a team like PSG nor will they be able to offer a better salary package to the youngster.

Now, talking about the two Premier League sides, Arsenal and Chelsea, while they have the money to go head-on with PSG, several rumours have been suggesting that Nico Williams is not interested in moving to England at this point in time. If these rumours are true then both the London clubs are out of the picture.

As things stand, Barcelona are still looking like the favourites in signing Nico Williams but PSG have just gotten Mbappe off their books so they won’t shy away from offering the winger a crazy deal. If this was to happen then Barca will have no other option but to accept defeat.
