Social Media rumours are abuzz that the Premier League will from now on be called as the Cadbury Premier League. While Cadbury is the newest brand to be added to the Premier League bandwagon but the deal is not that sweet also.

Cadbury will not be the title sponsors of the League but will rather sponsor the Golden Boot and the Golden Glove awards of the Premier League. Cadbury has entered into the partnership on a three-year deal which will see them enjoy rights to the top goalscorer and most clean sheets awards.

Premier League managing director Richard Masters said that Cadbury is a wonderful addition to the Premier League as it will help to promote a healthy lifestyle among school children. But on the contrary, a lot of anti-obesity campaigners are not very happy with this collaboration.Cadbury was also one of the sponsors of the 2012 London Olympics. And that also drew protests from anti-obesity campaigners.

Cadbury is a brand which is almost 200 years old and is currently owned by Mondelez International. It produces various confectionary products like Dairy Milk, Bournville, Creme Eggs etc. And in coming in a partnership with the League it joins a host of other sponsors like Carling, Barclays, Nike and EA Sports.

Many a people across different social media platforms are thinking that they might now have to call England’s top flight league as the Cadbury Premier League. But let us assure you that’s not the case, least for now. But who knows what the future holds. With so much money flowing into the League from all directions, anything is possible.
