Arsenal finally make a call in the transfer of this 24 Y/O winger: Arriving this month?

Norwich City winger Emi Buendia has been a top transfer target for Premier League side Arsenal and it seems like Mikel Arteta has finally come to a decision.

According to the latest reports, Norwich City want £39 million as a transfer fee for the 24-year-old which is why the Gunners have chosen to drop their interest and will no longer pursue him for the remainder of the month.

This news was further backed by Football Insider who have exclusively claimed that the Carrow Road outfit have not received any formal contact from Arsenal, up until now.

The report claims: “Norwich City have received no contact from Arsenal regarding Emiliano Buendia, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

“However, a source at Carrow Road has told Football Insider that there has been no approach or enquiry from Arsenal yet.”

Will Norwich City change their stance on Emi Buendia?

Emi Buendia has been in top form for the Canaries this season and initially when Arsenal’s interest came to light, Norwich City had made it clear that they do not wish to sell him during the middle of the campaign.

Even the player had reiterated that he wishes to remain with the Canaries for the near future.

“It is true that there was a lot of talk in the summer, after relegation, about the possibility that both I and other teammates could leave the team to continue in the Premier League,” Buendia had said a few weeks ago, as reported.

“However, I always had my head in this club. I belong to Norwich, I have to do things well for my team. Tomorrow we will see, but I never had my head outside the objectives, to work so that my club does well.

“As this season unfolds, we are doing well and I am very happy to be here. We are in a good position, I am feeling important, I am adding goals and assists for my teammates.”

Now it seems like Daniel Farke’s side have just activated Plan B by putting a really unrealistic price tag on the 24-year-old.

There’s no way Arsenal will spend so much money on one player during the January transfer window which is why they have sensibly chosen to back off and rest their faith on the likes of Willian and Nicolas Pepe till the end of May.
