Premier League side Arsenal FC have been joined by Brighton and Hove Albion in the race to sign striker Odsonne Edouard from Celtic FC.

The Times are reporting: “Brighton have joined the list of English Premier League clubs interested in signing Odsonne Édouard if Celtic decide to sell the £30 million-rated striker in this transfer window.”

Celtic FC manager Neil Lennon was confident that Edouard will sign a new deal at the club but as per The Times, it looks like the Frenchman has decided otherwise meaning the Bhoys will have no other option but to sell him this summer.

Under the terms of his current deal, the 22-year-old has only two years left at the club and the last thing Lennon would want is to lose his most prized asset on a cheap transfer next year.

Also with clubs like Arsenal and now Brighton seemingly interested, Celtic will want to cash in on Odsonne Edouard as soon as possible.

The entry of Brighton and Hove Albion into the picture will be a bit of a concern for the Gunners but we do not think Mikel Arteta will be overly worried about this new development.

If the Gunners are serious about signing the forward, then the Seagulls stand no chance at signing the former PSG man.

But having said that, we think Arteta will only try and sign Odsonne Edouard this summer if he is ready to part ways with Alexandre Lacazette. Or else Brighton will be leading a one-horse race in this deal.

During the 2019-20 season, the centre-forward scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists in just 27 Premiership games for the Parkhead outfit.
