Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard has once again had a really fine season, despite the Scottish side failing to win the SPFL this time around. And thanks to his great goalscoring record over the past few seasons, Premier League giants like Leicester City and Arsenal have been linked with the Frenchman.
Recently, Daily Mail had claimed that Leicester City are about to seal the transfer of the centre-forward in a bargain deal of just £15 million but eventually, the news did not turn out to be true.
Later revelations have suggested that PSG have a massive sell-on fee in Edouard’s contract which is why Celtic interim boss John Kennedy was quick to point out that £15 million was too low a price for the 23-year-old.
“That’s far too cheap for my liking,” Kennedy had said.
“The financial perspective of this club is strong and there are some very clever people here who know how the business side of football works inside out and we’ve put ourselves in a position where we can demand transfer fees.”
Leicester though still remain in the hunt along with Arsenal but with each passing day, things are only getting tougher for the Premier League sides since according to Football London, Inter Milan have now registered an interest in Odsonne Edouard.
The report claims: “Arsenal reportedly face more competition in their pursuit of Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard this summer.
“They already face reported competition in order to sign him from Premier League rivals Leicester City and Serie A giants AC Milan. However, there is now a new name in the race with Inter Milan also apparently keen to make a move, according to Metropolitan Magazine.

“The news will be a big blow to the Gunners, who could be at a disadvantage with the lack of European football heading into next season.”
Leicester City will not be too worried about this interest since they have European football to offer plus Brendan Rodgers has a great relationship with Odsonne Edouard.
But Arsenal will be really concerned with Inter Milan joining the race since the Gunners have finished eighth on the Premier League table this season while Inter were crowned the Italian champions.
The only thing Arsenal can offer Odsonne Edouard right now is the guarantee of regular playing time for the 2021-22 campaign(if they are planning to part ways with Lacazette this summer).
Celtic though will be loving this scenario since they now have the prospect of making a massive profit from the sale of the 23-year-old which is a really rare scenario given that the Frenchman has entered the final year of his contract.
During the 2020-21 season, Odsonne Edouard has scored 22 goals and provided six assists in 40 matches across all competitions for Celtic.
