Arsenal & Liverpool likely to miss out on his 23 Y/O centre-forward: Too early to predict?

Odsonne Edouard Celtic FC

Odsonne Edouard is been scouted by a number of big Premier League clubs and it’s almost certain that Celtic will not be able to hold onto him any longer.

The forward was tipped to move out of Park head last summer as well but the Bhoys somehow managed to hold onto him for one more season. This campaign, he’s once again hit peak form scoring 16 goals in 26 league matches.

But the fact that Celtic have not been able to win the Premiership title is a major reason why Odsonne Edouard will look to move out in the coming months.

Clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old but according to Goal.com’s Charles Watts, the forward is expected to join Leicester City.

“From what I am hearing suggests that Leicester are the frontrunners for that one,” Watts said on his YouTube channel.

Leicester City is currently being managed by Brendan Rodgers who also happened to manage Odsonne Edouard during his time at Celtic. And the Foxes believe this very connection should be enough to convince the French U21 international to snub all the other interested clubs and join them in the summer.

But, Leicester already have players like Vardy and Iheanacho at their disposal meaning Odsonne Edouard will not be guaranteed playing time at the King Power.

Arsenal have an upperhand in this case since there’s a big chance that Mikel Arteta could look to sell off Lacazette in the summer, in which case, Edouard will have the opportunity to become the first-choice centre-forward at the club next season.

Liverpool also have the same dilemma as Leicester City but Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently one of the biggest powerhouses in Europe and if Odsonne Edouard decides to join the Anfield outfit then he will have a shot of contesting for the Premier League title as well as the Champions League.

This transfer battle will get interesting in the coming few weeks but in the end, Celtic hold the reins of the deal so whichever club can offer the best value, the Bhoys are expected to tilt that way.
