Dean Henderson or David De Gea Man United

David De Gea once again pulled out a howler from his bag during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw vs Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

The goalkeeper helped Everton take the lead in the third minute of the match as Dominic Calvert-Lewin closed him down from a long kick, leaving the Spaniard red-faced.

And speaking after the game, Roy Keane claimed that it was arrogance from the Man United No 1 which helped the home side take a lead.

“It’s almost arrogance from De Gea for the goal,” said Keane as reported.

“I think there will be a decision on him, Dean Henderson on loan at Sheffield United is sure to be an option Ole is looking over.”

And it wasn’t only Roy Keane who came out to slam David De Gea and his silly mistake during such a crucial match.

But amongst all this noise, Solskajer though has remained calm and composed as he chose to praise the Everton youngster instead of criticising David De Gea.

“I trust David 100 per cent,” Solskjaer said after the match.

“He went through a difficult patch last season but he has been very, very good this season. I can’t remember any errors for goals this season apart from the Watford one.

“He is too slow for the goal. He knows that. But that is Dominic Calvert-Lewin for you. He chases everything, he chases paper on a windy day. He deserves a goal for how he is playing.”

“David is for me the best goalkeeper in the world.”

Obviously, by praising Calvert-Lewin, the Man United manager has tried to take the limelight away from David De Gea. But the reality is that the Spaniard has not been at his best for quite some time now.

And this slump in form might have come at a really bad time since Dean Henderson has been having a stellar season at Sheffield United and there’s every chance that the youngster could come back to join the Manchester United first-team squad.
