Forbes have released the list of the most valuable sports franchises in the world and only three football teams have made it to the top 10.
Like every year the list compiled by Forbes determines the valuations of various franchises across various sports like basketball, football and American football.
This list is based on Forbes’ valuations done in the past year for the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, F1, soccer and Nascar. Forbes’ team values are enterprise values (equity plus debt) based on current stadium deals (unless a new stadium is pending).
NFL side The Dallas Cowboys remain the most valuable sports franchise in the world valued at $4.8 billion which is up 14% from $4.2 billion from 2017.
The next three sports are dominated by soccer/football teams with Manchester United taking up the second spot on the list followed by La Liga sides Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Premier League side Manchester United’s valuation has gone up by 12% and they currently stand at $4.12 billion.
Real Madrid are valued at $4.09 billion while El Classico opponents are valued at $4.06 billion.
But apart from these three soccer/football clubs, all the other franchises on the list are either from the NFL or from the NBA.
