Ousmane Dembele to the Premier League
Ousmane Dembele

Juventus are desperate to sign Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona at the end of this season but according to Calciomercato, it’s Manchester United who are currently the favourites to land the Frenchman.

The report suggests: “The renewal of Ousmane Dembélé, due to expire in 2022, is a priority for the new management of Barcelona, but it is not obvious that an agreement will be reached. The demands of the player, in fact, are high and the Blaugrana would like to lower the amount of wages.

“For this reason, many European clubs, including Juventus, are paying attention to the evolution of the situation, with Barcelona which, if an agreement for the renewal is not reached by July, would be forced to sell the player at a balance price. , an opportunity to be seized on the fly.

“Of all the clubs involved, according to the Catalan newspaper Sport, Manchester Utd is in pole position.”

Is Ousmane Dembele on his way to the Premier League?

Man United have been in the hunt to sign a right winger for almost a year now and given that they have been constantly prized out of the Jadon Sancho deal, someone like Ousmane Dembele will be the perfect alternative.

If the player does not sign a new deal with Barcelona then the Catalans will be forced to sell him for cheap and at 23-years-old, the former Dortmund man is still a safe bet.

Juventus will give it all to try and sign him in the summer but in case he joins he will have to fend off a few players to get a regular first-team spot in Turin.

With Man United, things will be slightly easier since the Red Devils do not have a top class right-winger at the moment so someone like Ousmane Dembele will be a guaranteed starter.

Barca spent around £121.50m to sign him back in 2017 and they still feel the Frenchman will come good which is why they desperately want him to sign a new deal.

But, at the same time, the management will not cave in under any major demands and if the talks hit murky waters then surely Manchester United could benefit from it.
