Liverpool face Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday and the Anfield outfit will likely be without January signing Ozan Kabak.

Ozan Kabak was brought in as an emergency signing at the start of the new year and over the past few matches, he was featuring regularly in central defence. But Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the players has picked up an injury during Liverpool’s 1-0 to Chelsea in midweek and he might not be ready for Sunday’s game.

“Fab in midfield would be great,” Klopp told reporters on Friday.

“We had the problem that Phillips couldn’t play [against Chelsea] so we had to make the decision do we take an inexperienced pairing on the pitch or do we decide on Fab?

“We decided Fab and now Ozan had a little problem after the game, played now a lot of games. Now we will see if he’s ready for Fulham, doesn’t look like it at the moment. We will have to find solutions.

“Nat I think will be ready and Ben as well. For Ben, it’s not easy. In our situation, he has to adapt. He’s a really good player.

“We have to see which decision we make for it, but it looks like from the information I got after the game that [Fulham] could come too quick for Ozan but Nat should be ready and Ben.”

With Ozan Kabak set to miss out Nathaniel Phillips will most likely partner Fabinho in central defence meaning Klopp will have to rotate his centre-back pairing once again.

Players like Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all out with long-term injuries and if Phillips is starting at the back on Sunday then Fulham will have a slight twinkle in their eyes.

After multiple setbacks, Liverpool will be hoping to get back to winning ways at home by beating Fulham but with Ozan Kabak out of the equation, Scott Parker’s side could try and stretch the Liverpool back line in order to leave with at least a point.
