Man United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Thursday and both Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams are doubts for this game.

Shaw twisted his ankle during United’s 2-2 draw vs the Saints while Williams picked up a cut under his eye in that very same match. And according to the manager, the duo is still not a 100% fit for the trip to Selhurst Park.

“Luke has got a swollen ankle, so hopefully I’ll give him as much time as possible to recover – it was a twist on his ankle,” Ole told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“Brandon’s eye, he cut up his eye there, so I don’t really know. We’ve not trained this morning, none of them trained yesterday, so they were both swollen and I’ll give them as much time as possible to get ready.”

Who will play at left-back for Man United?

Solskjaer obviously has the option of using someone like Diogo Dalot at left-back and he can also change his formation – opting to use a three-man backline.

But now according to a report in the Daily Mail, either one of the two left-backs should be able to face Crystal Palace on Thursday.

The report claims: “Luke Shaw is undergoing treatment on a twisted ankle as he battles to be fit for Manchester United’s trip to Crystal Palace on Thursday.

“If Shaw is ruled out of the game at Selhurst Park, Brandon Williams may be able to deputise despite suffering a facial cut in Monday’s draw with Southampton at Old Trafford.”

If Luke Shaw is indeed fit in time then it will be a big boost for the Man United boss since the England defender has been a stellar performer ever since the resumption.

Brandon Williams has also performed nicely but the manager might be a bit sceptical to use him in midweek since Roy Hodgson has forwards who can cause a fair bit of trouble to the youngster.
