Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has only one more year remaining on his current deal and right now, the Premier League side are really struggling to make him sign a new contract.

Some rumours claim the player is not keen to put pen on paper to a new deal particularly because Ligue 1 side PSG have registered a genuine interest in him.

But while talking about offering a new contract to Paul Pogba, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that the club are trying really hard to hold onto him.

“The talks are ongoing between Paul’s representatives and our club representatives,” said United boss Solskjaer, as quoted by talkSPORT.

“There is always speculation about Paul and there are always clubs being interested because of course, we have seen Paul at his best.

“I’m not in the detail of every single one of the discussions but Paul knows what we feel about it.

“I have enjoyed my time working with Paul and hopefully we can [continue] working together. All the dialogue I’ve had with Paul is he’s looking forward to the new season.”

Paul Pogba has been a happy lad under the managerial guidance of Solskjaer but his agent Mino Raiola is really eager to pull him out of Manchester United.

PSG have spiked up their interest in the midfielder over the past few weeks so United will have to be prompt with their decision making.

If the Premier League side cannot convince Paul Pogba to sign a new deal then they will have no other option but to cash in on him this summer, something which will allow PSG to sign him on a bargain deal.

TransferMarkt currently values the World Cup winner at £54 million and if he is not signing a new deal then a transfer fee in this same region should be enough for PSG to pull Paul Pogba out of Manchester United.
