Man United drew their second game of the new season and this time it looks like Paul Pogba has come under fire from his manager.

United took an early lead through Daniel James as the youngster curled in a wonderful right-footer. But that goal was cancelled out Vestergaard just before the hour mark.

Once again, Ole’s men looked sloppy in possession as they failed to great big chances despite the Saints going down to 10 men during the final quarter of the match.

And speaking after the match, Solskjaer chose to direct a few criticisms towards midfielder Paul Pogba who did not have a particularly good outing.

The manager said: “I think we as a team after about half an hour started giving sloppy balls away and Paul was one of them,

“He wasn’t any different to anyone else, we as a team didn’t play well but in the last 20 minutes or half an hour, he did create loads for us going forward.

“Everyone expects everything from him every game.

“He has to defend, he has to attack, he has to win headers, he has to dribble past people, he has to make passes.

“That’s just Paul and he’ll thrive on that.”

There was a lot of talk that Paul Pogba might look to move out of Man United during the summer as Real Madrid had been eyeing him for some time now.

But with the transfer window closing soon, it looks like the Frenchman will be staying at Old Trafford. While his talent will surely be an asset to Solskjaer but with the way he has been playing during the past few games, pretty soon the manager might have to make the tough decision of benching him.

UPDATE ON PAUL POGBA INJURY:

That though might be required since Paul Pogba suffered a knock to his ankle and some reports had been claiming that he could be out of action for some time.

But the manager has hinted that the injury is not too serious and the midfielder will be fully fit pretty soon.

Ole confirmed: “He twisted his ankle I think but he’ll go away on international duty now and hopefully it’s not too bad and he can play for France because I know how much he loves his country and playing for them.”
