Looks like the Dimitri Payet transfer saga is finally coming to an end as he is set to join Marseille. West Ham have agreed to a 25 million pound transfer for the French player. This incident has been going on for quite some time as Payet has been on strike from the 10th of January. This came after he told the West Ham manager about his intentions of leaving the club to join Marseille.
Feeling home sick?
Payet had come to West Ham from Marseille when the English club signed him for 10 million pounds. Now he going back to his native club and he has cited family issues for the move. But the West Ham management was clearly unhappy with Payet’s behaviour and that is the main reason the club have decided to let him go.
Payet has been really unprofessional in his bid to force a transfer. And that has angered a lot of senior players at the club. The club even thought of the idea to keep him sidelined for the rest of the season but backed off due to his heavy wage rate.
Give back the bonus:
It is believed that the Hammers have told Payet to return the loyalty bonus that they paid him when he returned to the club after the Euros. If sourced are to believed then he will only be allowed to leave after he returns the money to West Ham.
