Chelsea so far have had a mixed-bag season as they managed to pick up their first win of the season only this past weekend vs Norwich City and next up they will take Sheffield United at home.

But by the looks of it, Pedro will not be part of the matchday squad after he picked up a hamstring injury before the Blues took on the Canaries.

While talking about the injury to Pedro, Lampard told the club’s official website: “Pedro picked up a hamstring injury and we will assess the severity of it over the next couple of days, but I think it will be tough for him to be back for next week at first glance.

“We obviously then have the international break, so that might help, but we will be trying to get him back as quickly as possible because he’s an important player.”

Lampard had already cast doubts over the fitness of the player and now reports are of the view that Pedro will not be able to make himself fit before the international break which means he will be an absentee during the Sheffield game.

Pedro so far has featured in the first two Premier League games for Chelsea along with the Super Cup clash vs Liverpool and it is safe to say that the Spaniard was one of the better players on the pitch.

Particularly vs Liverpool and Leicester, Pedro seemed to control the game in and around the attacking third but unfortunately, he was not rewarded with a goal or an assist. So as far as dictating the tempo of the match is concerned, the former Barcelona will be a miss.

But the Chelsea manager though will not be scratching his head over this issue especially since Willian has now returned back from injury.

Against Norwich, it was Mason Mount who was pushed to the wings as Ross Barkley came into the midfield area but Willian is likely to be handed a start this weekend at home.

Willian should be deployed down the right-wing as Pulisic plays down the left which would mean Mason Mount returning back to his familiar role in the attacking midfield area.

The game vs Sheffield should be an easy win for Chelsea but the visiting team will obviously be upbeat since they currently sit ninth in the Premier League table.
