Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey will be heading for Juventus during the summer transfer window after the Gunners chose not to provide a new deal to the Welshman.

During the start of the 2018-19 season, Unai Emery actually wanted Aaron Ramsey to stay the Emirates for a long time and he had even tabled a new deal.

But soon after, the manager chose to pull the plug on the deal and given that Aaron Ramsey was out of contract at the end of the season, Arsenal would risk losing him for free.

And after failing to sell the midfielder during the January transfer window this is exactly what is happening now as Aaron Ramsey is on his way to Juventus and the Turin outfit are not paying a penny for the transfer.

This bizarre decision from the Gunners has caught everyone by surprise and Premier League striker Peter Crouch has slammed the management for making such a poor call.

Writing in his latest Daily Mail column, he said: “It has been a good week for Arsenal with big wins over Manchester United and Rennes but it’s another week that has shown the error of their ways.

“I have written a couple of times this season about Aaron Ramsey and you will know my position — I found it madness they were not prepared to offer him another deal and I can’t believe they are losing him to Juventus for free. Ramsey is quality.

“He is the type of footballer that should cost someone £40million in a transfer fee alone. If Arsenal want to replace him like-for-like, that is the type of investment they will need to make, along with top-end wages.

“They will find it is no straightforward task. It’s brilliant for him that he’s getting the chance to play for a club like Juventus.

“Good luck to him. I hope he’s a huge success and believe he will be.

“But for Arsenal to make the same mistake so soon after losing Alexis Sanchez has left me scratching my head. It was avoidable.”

This decision to let Aaron Ramsey leave for free has certainly backfired for the Gunners because not only has the 28-year-old managed to get a major upgrade in his professional career but Unai Emery has come to realize that it will be really tough to replace the midfielder.
