The January transfer window is just a few weeks away so all the clubs are busy making final changes to their wishlists and like always, the primary focus will be the movements in and around the Premier League. The EPL transfers are some of the most comprehensive and detailed transactions in the market so automatically everyone is interested in who comes and goes in the English top division.

Last summer was one of the craziest transfer windows which we have seen in a really long time so naturally, it will be a bit hard to match that ceiling during the middle of the season.

Ideally, the January transfer window is much more muted in terms of player movements but 2022 could be a different prospect since several big names could be moving out of the Premier League.

Despite the stars attractions in France or in Spain, England still remains the toughest league in European football so whenever players head for greener pastures outside the country, it creates a lot of buzz. So with the window just about to reopen we take a look at players who could head out of the Premier League at the start of the new year.

Raheem Sterling:

Raheem Sterling seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City and with clubs like PSG and Barcelona interested in him, the England international could move out in January.

And in a recent interview, Pep Guardiola had even come out to make it clear that if Raheem Sterling is not happy with his playing minutes then he(like everyone else) is free to leave.

“What I want from Raheem and everyone is they have to be satisfied to be here and delighted to be in this club,” he said, as per the Guardian.

“If that’s not the case they are free to take the best decision for the player and his family. Not just Raheem, all of them want to play every game but I cannot assure them.”

Timo Werner:

Timo Werner has found it really hard to hit peak form since moving to the Premier League and he’s another player who has recently been linked with FC Barcelona.

While Tuchel will not be too eager to let Werner leave during the middle of the season but now that Chelsea have signed Romelu Lukaku, a good enough offer could certainly enforce a sale.

Edinson Cavani:

The Man United is the third player on this list who’s been linked with Barcelona. The forward has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United after Ronaldo’s arrival and there’s a massive chance that he could move out at the start of the new year.

Barcelona though are not his only option since heading back to South America and playing for Boca Juniors also remain an alternative for the ex-PSG striker.

Bernd Leno:

Leno has lost his No 1 spot in the Arsenal side to Aaron Ramsdale this season and the Gunners are more than willing to cash in on him during the middle of the campaign.

Several European sides have been linked with the 29-year-old but as of now, there’s no major interest in him.

Harry Winks:

Jose Mourinho has this habit of signing players from his former club and recently, he’s been keen on bringing Harry Winks to AS Roma.

Winks has played in only two Premier League games this season which is why he could very well be interested in joining the Serie A side. But now that Antonio Conte has freshly taken charge at Spurs, the25-year-old’s situation could very well improve.
