Jose Mourinho Spurs Premier League

The 2020/21 season of the English Premier League is just around the corner and all eyes will be on Arsenal and Spurs since both these sides missed out on the top-four last season.

The Gunners managed to scrape into the Europa League by winning the FA Cup against Chelsea while Jose Mourinho’s side finished sixth on the league table.

And while some experts have predicted that both the North London side should be able to fight tooth and nail for a top-four finish this time around but Robbie Savage thinks otherwise.

Savage has predicted that the Gunners should be able to improve on their previous season’s points tally but are expected to finish just outside of the top-four. On the other hand for Spurs, things could get even worse.

He wrote in his column for The Mirror: “Mikel Arteta has done unbelievably well to win the FA Cup and toughen up the Gunners’ soft centre since he took over from Unai Emery.

“Arsenal have already beaten Liverpool, City and Chelsea on his watch, and if they get off to a good start, they could finish in the top four… although I think it’s too soon to talk about a title challenge.

“If[Spurs] they are as entertaining as the All Or Nothing documentary, Spurs will be worth watching.

“But the meter is ticking over to 13 years without a trophy and they should prioritise the cups.

“Jose Mourinho did well to finish second with Manchester United in 2017 and it would be even more remarkable if he did it again with Spurs this season.”

Mikel Arteta has done some fine work since he took over the club in December of last year but Arsenal still have a long way to go before they can challenge for the Premier League title.

And as far as Spurs are concerned, the lockdown has hit their finances and their summer transfer plans pretty hard so we have a feeling that Jose Mourinho will once again have to sweat it out in order to finish as close to the Champions League spots as possible.
