Here’s when the fans could return to the stadiums in the Premier League

Premier League reponed its doors earlier this month and so far, the matches have gone on without any major issues, both on as well as off the pitch.

The authorities have worked tirelessly throughout the lockdown period in trying to get the 2019-20 season back on track and we must say that everyone involved has done a tremendous job.

But football is nothing without its fans and the true charm of the game will only return when the fans are finally allowed inside the stadium and the matches are not camouflaged by electronic fan noises.

So with the games up and running without any big concerns, the next obvious and important question has started popping up.

When will the fans be allowed inside the stadiums in the Premier League?

According to an exclusive report by Football London, the Premier League fans could be allowed to enter the stadiums sometime next month.

The report claims: “According to football.london sources, test events could be held as early as this month under an observation programme, with plans for certain sports, which could include the Premier League, to formally open their doors to fans for the first time in August.

“All sports would then be allowed to welcome fans back into stadiums in late August and early September, with social distancing restrictions in place, should they wish to do so.

“That means stadiums would not be allowed to open to full capacity at the start of next season, but some supporters would be allowed into grounds to watch their teams again once the 2020/21 campaign gets under way.

“It is not yet known when the new campaign would start, with plans for the 2019/20 season to be completed by the end of July, but there is a growing feeling that the new campaign could start in early September, giving teams just one month off.”

Yes, a lot of clubs are losing out on the ticket sales revenue but there’s no way the Premier League authorities will want to take any hasty decision in terms of bringing the fans back inside the stadiums.

The matches are up and running once again meaning the major chunk of the financial losses have been avoided. So the deadline of August in no ways a concrete one and the fans will once be allowed to view the match from the stands only when the Premier League authorities and the government thinks it’s safe to do so.
