The Premier League clubs are trying to return back to training next Tuesday and immediately all the players will have to adapt to a new training regime, keeping in mind all the safety measures put forward by the government.

Already a number of players are expected to revolt against this decision which is why the respective club captains are expected to talk with their teammates so as to try and the ease fears amongst them.

“Some of our players don’t want to come back but the majority will,” one senior executive at a Premier League club said, as reported by Sky Sports. “They’re going to play again in Germany so there’s no reason why we can’t try to as well.”

But even if the players agree to join the training sessions, they will have to get used to a number of things, some of which are listed below:

  1. The players will have to sign consent forms to show that they agree to abide by the new training protocols.

2. The players will be tested 48 hours before they are due to train and then at least twice a week while the training sessions are on.

3. The players cannot indulge in morning coffees and pre-training massages as they will have to go straight into training.

4. Players will not be allowed to share cars and before they enter the training grounds their temperatures will be checked.

5. The players will have to arrive at the grounds in their training kits.

6. The training session can last no longer than 75 minutes and it will be in a group of five players with a maximum of three coaches.

7. Players will be asked to wear masks and snoods even when they train.

8. Physios and club doctors will be wearing PPE at all times.

9. Next Tuesday, the phase one training will resume in which there will be no contact and even tackling is banned.

10. Once training is completed, all the players will take a brief moment to cool down and then drive straight back home meaning there will be no team meetings at the training ground.

11. Foreign players returning back will have to go into quarantine for 14 days

There are still fears that despite all these efforts a number of players will refuse to return back to action so soon but many clubs(like Man United) have already made it clear that they will not force any of their players into taking part in the training.

If everything goes well, the EPL has decided to resume its matches from either June 12 or June 19(after getting the nod from the government).
