Spurs had the golden chance of entering the top four of the Premier League but they lost against Chelsea and according to Jamie Redknapp, Man United are now the favourites to take up that final Champions League spot. The first three spots are more or less guaranteed(hope so) so the rest of the teams are fighting for just one spot.

Man United beat West Ham United during the weekend which finally allowed them to enter the top four and thanks to Spurs’ 2-0 loss on Sunday, they are now able to hold onto that spot for some time.

United have started to peak at the same time that teams like Arsenal and Spurs have started dropping points which is why Redknapp believes Manchester United should be able to retain their Champions League spot.

‘I think Manchester United are the favourites, I do,’ said Redknapp after Chelsea’s win against Spurs, via Metro.

‘I think Arsenal seem to be running out of steam. Poor result in midweek [against Liverpool], poor result against Burnley today.

‘But Tottenham with those games in hand as well, if they can get a couple of players in then they’re going to be in the mix.

‘But put it this way if Manchester United with their squad should finish in the top four. If they don’t then that’s another poor season for them. They finished second last year and they’ve got to finish in the top four.’

Which teams will finish in the Premier League top four?

Man City and Liverpool are without a doubt the top two teams this season and while Chelsea are comfortable in that third spot, we can’t say for sure that Tuchel’s side have secured that place.

Spurs have played only 20 Premier League games so far so if they can win their games in hand then they will once again be breathing down the necks of Chelsea and Manchester United. Tottenham have played four games less than the Blues and currently, they are 11 points behind Tuchel’s side.

But teams like Arsenal and West Ham United have truly been running out of steam at the wrong moment and both of them have dropped points in their previous two games.

The Gunners still have a game in hand so they can still pull things back together and since they don’t have to play in Europe, Mikel Arteta’s side can still challenge teams like Chelsea and Man United. It will be really hard for the two London sides to claw back but theoretically, they are still in that race.

There’s no denying that Man United and Chelsea are sitting pretty in top four right now but there’s still a lot of drama left(if Arsenal and Spurs win their games in hand).
