Arsenal and Spurs have both lost their respective matches in the Premier League this weekend whereas Man United have somehow managed to stumble to a 3-2 win over Norwich City.

These results have once again turned the top-four race on its head and it seems like even the best pundits are having divided opinions.

Owen Hargreaves has backed Tottenham to hold onto their current spot(fourth) on the Premier League table, claiming that Arsenal won’t be able to gather momentum anymore because of their schedule.

“Fixture-wise, it’s tough for Arsenal,” he told Premier League Productions, as quoted by Football London.

“They struggled against Crystal Palace, Brighton and Southampton. They’ve got Chelsea, Man United, West Ham, Leeds and Tottenham coming up.

“Looking at Arsenal’s fixtures I’m saying no. I know they’re close but if you’re losing and not scoring against Palace, Brighton and Southampton, you’re going to struggle.

“It’s made it really difficult for them. Tottenham are still in the driving seat because they’re ahead. Arsenal have that game in hand but I think Arsenal will fall short with the fixtures they’ve got. Manchester United are just too inconsistent.

“Tottenham should be able to get the job done.”

His fellow pundit Darren Bent though has claimed otherwise, suggesting that while Spurs are still in the driver’s seat, Arsenal shouldn’t be written off just yet.

He added: “You can’t rule Arsenal out because as we’ve seen, the teams around them are inconsistent. Spurs are inconsistent, so are United.

“Arsenal have still got the opportunity but they need to find some consistent form from somewhere. You can’t be losing three games in a row.

“After that run they shouldn’t really been anywhere near it but the fact is they are because the race for the top-four has been so poor. We’ve seen that Tottenham are capable of going on a run and I expect them to do that.

“It’s still in Spurs’ hands because Arsenal and United are so inconsistent.”

Man United have also kept themselves in the race thanks to this timely 3-2 win but the way they are labouring against soon to be relegated teams, we don’t see how they will be able to stand up vs the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in the coming weeks.

All these three teams have been massively inconsistent this season and since they still have to play some of the top-three sides, this roller-coaster journey is far from over.

It’s almost impossible to predict which team will be sitting on the fourth spot of the Premier League table at the end of May but since Tottenham have looked the more stable side recently plus they have Conte’s experience to back them, our money will be on the Lilywhites.
