Granit Xhaka Arsenal news EPL
Granit Xhaka

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has had some troubled times at the club but according to Il Romanista, the European Championship has worked wonders for him with clubs like Roma and PSG interested in him.

The Gunners midfielder was instrumental in helping Switzerland beat France to enter the quarter-final and as per the report, PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is going to fight Jose Mourinho for the 28-year-old’s signature.

Granit Xhaka has been tipped to leave Arsenal this summer and so far he was destined to join AS Roma with some rumours claiming that he has already agreed on terms with Mourinho’s side.

But now it seems like Poch is ready to stage a coup and sign the 28-year-old.

Will Arsenal reject both Roma and PSG?

Some experts believe Arsenal should think twice before selling Granit Xhaka, especially after the performances he’s had so far in the European Championship.

But we don’t think Mikel Arteta will change his mind about cashing in on the midfielder. Instead, the Gunners might use this interest from PSG to up their asking price.

So far, Arsenal and Roma could not agree on a fee for Xhaka and it will not be a big surprise if the North London side now ask for even more money.

Arsenal know for a fact that money is not going to be a problem for a club like PSG and since he still has two more years left on his current deal, the club can afford to play it a bit risky.

In the end, we don’t see Granit Xhaka staying at Arsenal beyond the summer but now with PSG interested in him, the Swiss international might very well end up playing in the Ligue 1 instead of the Serie A.

Xhaka has had a great EURO campaign but he was pretty average for Arsenal during the 2020-21 season, scoring one and assisting two goals in 31 Premier League games.
