Kyle Lafferty
Kyle Lafferty to Rangers

Rangers FC have signed 11 players during the summer transfer window but Steven Gerrard had recently suggested that his club are in the course of making a couple of more signings.

Rangers have brought in Umar Sadiq from AS Roma in a season-long loan deal who is currently the only other striker apart from Alfredo Morelos. So it makes sense that Gerrard is looking to add one more striker to his squad before the end of the month.

And by the looks of it, Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty might be the player who could fill up that gap.

Kyle Lafferty who currently plays for Hearts has spent four years at Ibrox and it seems that Steven Gerrard wants him back at the club as his third choice striker.

This interest in the 30-year-old is nothing new as Rangers had earlier made one unsuccessful bid for the Lafferty last month.

The bid which was rumoured to be in the region of £200,000 was swiftly rejected by Hearts claiming the amount was nowhere close to what they want for the striker.

After this, it seemed that Rangers had cooled off their interest in Kyle Lafferty but the sale of Josh Windass and Declan John has breathed new life to the deal.

The Light Blues have sold off Windass and Declan John to Wigan and Swansea respectively and in doing so the club have bagged a couple of million dollars in return.

And now reports are claiming that Rangers are planning to use this money to fund the transfer of Kyle Lafferty.

The Gers are willing to up their price to £750,000 which is rumoured to be pretty close to what Hearts want for their striker.

Steven Gerrard’s side is expected to make a move for Kyle Lafferty in the coming few days and the management as hopeful that this time they will get their man.
