Rangers FC have performed beyond anticipation this season in Europe as they have reached the semi-final of the Europa League where they will now face RB Leipzig.

The Gers have slain giants like Dortmund and Braga in previous rounds so there’s a small glimmer of hope that they can turn the tables on Leipzig as well.

RB Leipzig are obviously the favourites to pick up a win and move into the final but GvB has claimed that a win for his side is possible but first, his players will all have to cut out all the unwanted noise.

“You have to block all the media, block all the pressure you get from outside to win these legs and just concentrate on your preparation and your performance,” Van Bronckhorst told reporters on Wednesday.

“That’s what the players also have to do — make sure we prepare well, as normal, and when the whistle goes go into the game, give everything you have on the pitch and make sure you have a good result. In that aspect for me it’s no different.”

Around 7000 fans are set to travel to Germany for the first leg and the Rangers boss has also stressed the fact that they people will have to act as the 12th man on Thursday night.

“We have had that the whole season when we’ve played abroad. The fan-base who travel with us are amazing,” he added.

“It feels a little bit like playing at home when you are away.”

Rangers FC have beaten some very big sides to get to this stage so another upset is very much on the cards but for this to happen, the first thing they will need to do is to keep themselves in the tie.

They cannot let Leipzig run away in the 1st leg itself as they have to make sure that they have something to fight for when the Germans come to Ibrox.

GvB will be without some key players for Thursday’s leg but most of them should be back next week which is why he will have to urge his players to keep Thursday’s scoreline very respectable. A win will obviously be preferable but even if Rangers FC end up losing, the scoreline, ideally, should not exceed 2-0.
