Rangers FC have signed Kemar Roofe from Anderlecht and as per The Athletic, Gerrard is also closing in on yet another forward in the form of Cedric Itten.

The Gers released an official statement after signing the 27-year-old which read: “RANGERS are delighted to confirm Kemar Roofe has joined the club on a four year deal for an undisclosed fee.

During his time at Leeds, he quickly became a fans’ favourite, forging a reputation as a prolific goal scorer. He was regularly nominated for, and awarded EFL Championship Player of the Month during his spell in Yorkshire, which led to a move to Belgium.

“Kemar will join up with his new teammates when they return from Germany.”

Cedric Itten, 23, has come up through the ranks at Basel and in the summer of 2018, he moved to St Gallen. He has been in sensational form this season scoring 19 and assisting six goals in 34 league matches.

With so much transfer movement in the centre-forward department, Alfredo Morelos looks all set to head out of the club this summer especially since some top European clubs are eyeing a move for him.

And with the signing of Kemar Roofe and the possible acquisition of Cedric Itten, it’s clear that Steven Gerrard is planning for life without the Colombian international.

Cedric Itten is a fine talent and he clearly has goals in him. But with Roofe and Jermaine Defoe already in the squad, it will be interesting to see as to which player does the Rangers FC manager choose as his regular striker this season.

The 23-year-old is currently valued at £3.6 million but he only has one year left on his current deal with St Gallen meaning Rangers FC should be able to sign him for cheap.
