Rangers FC lost their home game to Aberdeen 1-0 on Wednesday night proving once again that the Gers are still not the perfect team under their new boss.

Aberdeen won all three points courtesy of a seventh-minute striker from Scott McKenna and it was another disastrous night for Alfredo Morelos who was second off for a second bookable offence in the second half.

The loss meant, Rangers lost a golden opportunity to open up a hefty lead at the top of the table after Celtic drew their game against Motherwell 1-1.

Now though, they find themselves second on the Premiership table one point behind leaders Kilmarnock.

And while everyone is busy bashing Alfredo Morelos losing his cool, Steven Thomspon has chosen a totally different player to point fingers at.

Speaking after the match on BBC, Steven Thompson lashed out on centre-back Connor Goldson.

“More often than not, it was Goldson in possession of the ball. Can he not just drive forward? He has plenty of space, take the ball forward 10 yards,” Thompson said.

“He always looks for too hard a pass, there were lots of these. Or, he takes the easy option, never takes responsibility on the ball. It was slack.”

This is really the first time that anyone has really pulled up Connor Goldson for criticism since the defender has been exceptional ever since joining the club during the summer transfer window.

Rangers now have to shift their focus back as they hit the road to take on Dundee at Dens Park on Sunday.
