Rangers FC along with Hearts and Aberdeen have urged that an independent review should be conducted into the SPFL’s handling of the recent vote which was done to ask teams if they wanted to end the 2019-20 Scottish season.

The Gers have come out to claim they have proof from a whistleblower which shows that SPFL did not conduct the whole process in a healthy way but so far they are yet to put forward any documentation to back their claims.

And now SPFL board member Les Gray has blasted Rangers FC stating that the Ibrox outfit have been crying foul over a totally different reason – something that’s totally unrelated to flouting of the rules.

“The board is there purely to enact the will of the clubs,” Gray said, as per the BBC. “And 81% of clubs voted in favour of this resolution. It’s a clear endorsement of the clubs’ position.

“The process is up for debate and parts of it could have been done better.

“But that’s not what we’re talking about here – we’re talking about accusations levelled at people of impropriety. We have good people at the SPFL and they’re being slaughtered all over the place because it probably could’ve been handled better.

“At the moment we don’t have any evidence. We’ve asked for it on several occasions.

“We’ve got high calibre, non-executive directors and we’re happy that they can look at this process and see what we could’ve done better. There’s no wrongdoing here, we’re absolutely certain of that.”

But all this whining from Rangers FC seems to have fallen into deaf years as SPFL have gotten the required number of votes to wrap up the league – awaiting permission from UEFA.

While some had feared that UEFA might try and stop this from happening but now as per a report, the governing body of football in Europe are also willing to accept this method of ending the leagues with immediate effect. And this means it’s only a matter of time before Celtic FC are crowned the champions.
