Rangers FC are the first club who have made a move for Fenerbahce winger Bright Osayi-Samuel who also happens to be a target for Glasgow rivals Celtic FC.

Bright Osayi-Samuel moved to Turkey at the start of this year but according to reports in Turkey he is eager to return to the UK and Rangers are doing all they can to bring him back.

Glasgow Live cites Turkish reports saying: “Rangers’ summer recruitment could come in the form of Bright Osayi-Samuel, after Turkish media claimed the Scottish champions had made their move for the Fenerbahce player.

“The 23-year-old Nigerian midfielder was signed by the Istanbul giants after an impressive spell with QPR in the English Championship, and initially signed a four-year deal with the Istanbul giants during the most recent January transfer window.

“However, it seems Osayi-Samuel might not be enjoying himself in the Turkish Super Lig with Turkish media outlet Fotospor claiming he’s keen to return to the UK – with both halves of Glasgow’s Old Firm eyeing a potential deal.

“And now TumSport claim that the the Gers hierarchy have been the first club to make an approach for the player, with Monaco and Celtic are also reportedly tracking his status.”

Will Rangers FC sign Osayi-Samuel this summer?

Celtic and Rangers have been linked with the winger for a couple of weeks now but it seems like Rangers have already made up their mind while the Bhoys are still pondering over this.

The 23-year-old has been a major flop at Fenerbahce scoring just a single goal in his 18 league appearances for the Turkish club and as per the rumours, Fenerbahce want around £3 million.

Recently ex-Everton striker Kevin Campbell has recently claimed that Bright Osayi-Samuel would be a real bargain buy for Steven Gerrard.

Campbell had told Football Insider: “He is a player who has been long-linked with Rangers. They have clearly been coveting him for a while.”

“A player of that quality for £3million is cheap money. Even though the transfer market in Scotland is different, that is cheap. I think that is about right for a player with a lot still to come.”

“He has got bags of pace, he is direct and he is a threat. I think he would do brilliantly in Scotland.”

After missing out on the Premiership title, Celtic are looking for a major overhaul this summer and someone like Bright Osayi-Samuel would be the perfect addition to the squad at a price tag of £3 million. But what remains to be seen if the new Celtic boss is keen to make a move for the Nigerian or does he have an alternative name on his transfer wish list?
