Rangers FC take on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this weekend at Celtic Park in what is without a doubt the most talked about fixture in Scotland.

The Bhoys will have the home advantage in this match but this is the first time in some time when Brendan Rodgers will not in the dugout.

After Rodgers left for Leicester City a couple of weeks ago, Neil Lennon has been given charge of the club and this match will certainly be a big test for him.

But just days before the match, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has revealed that he will be without one of his key defenders going into the Old Firm Derby.

Speaking to Rangers TV, the manager claimed that left-back Borna Barisic will miss the high-profile clash due to a hamstring injury.

“Obviously we have had a bit of a setback with Borna, who has a bit of a hamstring problem which makes him a huge doubt for the weekend. So that is disappointing.” Gerrard said.

Borna Barisic joined the Gers last summer and up until now, the Croatian has made 15 appearances in the Premiership this season.

While the absence of Barisic will surely be a big blow for Gerrard but Andy Halliday will slot into the left-back role on Sunday a job which he has done for a number of games this season.

Rangers won the last Old Firm Derby held in December of 2018 and given that the Celtic players would be playing such a big game under Neil Lennon for the first time, Gerrard will be hoping to pick up yet another win.
