Raphael Varane Man United

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane returned to training this week but his comeback has caused even more stir amidst constant links with Premier League side Manchester United.

The defender came back from holiday and reported straight for training but according to Fabrizio Romano, the French international has his sights set on a move to the English top division.

He wrote on Twitter: “Raphaël Varane has just arrived at Valdebebas as he’s not breaking his relationship with Real Madrid – respecting the club and Perez.

“He knows Manchester United are in talks with Real Madrid – he wants a Premier League experience. Contract almost ready, up to the clubs.”

Various other reports are suggesting that Raphael Varane did not take part in any training and he was there just for his medical checks. Once he completed his checks he went home.

Manchester United have seen their first bid rejected as Real Madrid are holding out for a transfer fee in the region of €60-70 million.

United have so far offered just €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses, something which the Spanish side are not ready to accept.

Varane is not likely to sign a new deal with Real Madrid which is why Man United are hoping to sign him on a bargain deal. But given that he is valued at €70 million, the La Liga side are not ready to budge.

The defender is not ready to throw up tantrums just yet but not training on the first day is a clear indication that he wants to move out and possibly join Manchester United.
