Raphinha Leeds United

Arsenal have shown an interest in Leeds United winger Raphinha who also happens to be on the radar of Liverpool.

The Gunners were being linked with the Leeds man for a few weeks but now Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal have a genuine interest in signing the 25-year-old but they are yet to make any sort of official contact.

He wrote on Twitter: “Arsenal have genuine interest in Raphinha since March, he’s always been appreciated – but there’s still no bid or negotiation with Leeds. Gabriel Jesus & Tielemans, priorities.

“Leeds won’t accept less than €55m for Raphinha, as of now – message sent to Barça days ago.”

3 reasons why Arsenal are not likely to sign Raphinha:

The first and the major reason is that we don’t think Arsenal will be able to spend €55 million on Raphinha after they sign Gabriel Jesus and Youri Tielemans.

They will be playing in the Europa League which means Arteta will have a limited transfer budget so there’s a very slim that the Gunners will be able to spend €130-40 million this summer.

The second reason why this transfer is not likely to happen is because we don’t think Raphinha will be too interested in joining Arsenal because they already have Bukayo Saka.

Saka is one of the top attacking talents in the Premier League so Raphinha will have to really sweat it out in order to secure a regular starting role. A player who’s played 35 Premier League games last season won’t like playing second fiddle to a youngster like Saka.

The third and final reason will be the factor of Liverpool because if they step up their interest then Arsenal won’t stand a chance. Raphinha will any day want to play in the Champions League, that too for a team like Liverpool and if Klopp’s side can agree on a fee with Leeds United then Raphinha will not even entertain Arsenal.
