Real Madrid made yet another comeback in the Champions League as they turned things around from 0-2 down to win 5-2 against Borussia Dortmund and this win is the perfect platform for the upcoming El Classico.
Madrid will welcome Barcelona in the LaLiga on Saturday night and this one will be a very crucial game for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, for more reasons than one. The Bernabeu outfit are already three points away from the top of the table and on top of that, Barcelona have been in sensational form under Hansi Flick.
A win at the weekend will allow Real Madrid to go level on points with their archrivals but if they were to slump to a loss, it will be a disaster for Ancelotti. Dortmund scored two easy goals past them in midweek but the German side could not hold onto that lead. However, if Barcelona were to go ahead at the Bernabeu, it will be very hard for Real Madrid to make a comeback.
Real Madrid’s team news and injuries:
Courtois, Alaba and Dani Carvajal are all ruled out with various injuries and now, Madrid have confirmed that Rodrygo will also miss out due to a thigh injury.
Carlo Ancelotti has brought in Endrick who can replace Rodrygo but there is no way the manager will put the 18-year-old in the starting lineup against this Barcelona team. He also has Arda Guler who can play out on the right but the 19-year-old has hardly featured this season.
The manager will most likely change the formation using four midfielders.
Modric played 70 minutes in midweek so he will be sat on the bench and that will allow Camavinga and Tchouameni to play in the central midfield roles.
With Rodrygo out of action, Vinicius Jr and Mbappe will play up front and both of them are in peak form this season. The Real Madrid manager will hope that both of them can carry their form from the Dortmund game into the weekend. Vini scored a hat-trick in midweek and if he can find rhythm early on against Barcelona then Real Madrid will have a great chance of picking up a win.
Real Madrid predicted line up vs Barcelona:
GOALKEEPER: Lunin.
DEFENDERS: Mendy, Rudiger, Militao, Vazquez.
MIDFIELDERS: Camavinga, Tchouameni, Valverde, Bellingham.
ATTACKERS: Mbappe, Vinicius Jr.
