East Bengal beat Mumbai FC 2-0 at home to make it five wins out of five in the Hero I-league. Trevor Morgan’s side has been in fine form recently and this was another display of their dominance.

East Bengal went 2-0 up before the 20th minute of the match. Thanks to a brace from Willis Plaza in the 10th and 17th minute of the match. The Trinidad & Tobago played looked in sublime form throughout the match and he capped it with two wonderful goals.

The red and gold brigade looked very slick and positive right from the very onset which was clearly an effect of their recent form. And to make things even, easier, Mumbai FC possessed almost no threats for the Kolkata club as they looked very lackluster. And East Bengal took full advantage of it.

East Bengal are now sitting pretty at the top of the table with 16 points. Their nearest competitors Mohun Bagan are on 13 points, having played one game less than East Bengal.
