Liverpool have been informed of the transfer price they will have to shell out if they wish to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, as per Sports Witness.
The report cites L’Equipe: “Earlier this summer, L’Equipe linked both Arsenal and Liverpool with Renato Sanches, without there being a great deal of detail on any efforts to sign the Lille midfielder.
“Those claims were echoed in the English and media and then largely died away, Sunday sees L’Equipe bring them back again.
“Looking at Lille’s current situation, the French newspaper says the Ligue 1 side would want at least €35m for their Portuguese midfielder.”
Will Liverpool meet the demands for Renato Sanches?
Liverpool are not the only club who have been linked with the former Bayern Munich man but with Wijnaldum leaving, Jurgen Klopp needs to bring in a like-for-like replacement asap.
The central midfielder was one of the most promising young talents in Europe a few seasons ago but he’s failed to live up to the hype, disappointing in almost every club he’s joined since moving out of Benfica.
During the 2020-21 season, Renato Sanches played in 23 Ligue 1 games for Lille, scoring one and assisting three goals.

Signing the 23-year-old will no doubt be a major gamble but he’s still relatively young and €35 million is not an amount too steep for the Anfield outfit.
But having said that, Liverpool have also been linked with players like Saul Niguez and it will be a much more sensible choice spending money on the Atletico man than bringing Renato Sanches on board.
Wijnaldum’s exit has left a gaping hole in central midfield so if Klopp cannot bring in a new signing before the new season begins then there’s no way the likes of Naby Keita will be able to fill the void.
