Manchester United lead the race in signing this £43 million midfielder: Should Mourinho go for it?

Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches moved to Bayern Munich before the 2016-17 season and the 19-year-old became one of the biggest summer signings in that transfer window. But the teenager’s time in Germany has been anything but comfortable.

The dynamic midfielder has failed to cement his position in the first team as he managed to make only 25 appearances in the whole of last season. And now Carlo Ancelotti has decided that Sanches is not important to his future plans and is willing to let the youngster move to another club.

And this news has interested Manchester United to a fair extent. Jose Mourinho has been a long time admirer of the player and has already expressed his desire to work with him. Bayern Munich’s CEO has admitted publicly that it will be very tough for Sanches to get any sort of game time this season. So the club is willing to let Sanches leave on a loan deal and maybe also on a permanent transfer.

Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti also seconded the statement of his CEO by saying that Manchester United signing Renato Sanches could be a “possibility’. But he also gunned down any rumours linking Arturo Vidal to United by saying that he is 100% sure that the Chilean is not going anywhere.

The Football Fan Base view:

Bayern Munich have just signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on loan, and this means that Sanches will be pushed further down the pecking order. So it will be logical for him to move to a new club and start afresh. And adding to that Bayern have put Renato Sanches on sale for £43 million and that is nothing sort of a bargain for a 19-year-old. Yes, the player has found it difficult to create a niche for himself in Bayern Munich but he most definitely will fit in at Manchester United.
