According to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, Everton boss Frank Lampard is more likely to hold onto Calvert-Lewin and part ways with Richarlison during the ongoing transfer window.

The manager needs to rebuild his squad after narrowly escaping relegation and for that, he will have to sell one of his big-name players. DCL and Richarlison are the two names who have been tipped to leave and according to Bridge, Calvert-Lewin is more valuable for Everton.

Bridge told Give Me Sport: “I get the impression that if Frank Lampard wants to build again, he might have to sacrifice one key player. And you’d probably imagine they’d want Calvert-Lewin to stay over Richarlison, I don’t know. That’s just my opinion.”

Will Frank Lampard hold onto Calvert-Lewin?

In the previous year, DCL has been riddled with injuries as he managed to play only 17 league games this season while on the other hand, Richarlison was one of the key performers for the Toffees.

This season, the Brazilian scored 10 goals in 30 league matches and he was one of the pivotal reasons why Everton escaped relegation.

Based purely on performances, Frank Lampard should be holding onto Richarlison but the Brazilian has hinted that he is open to leaving this summer.

DCL has till now failed to live up to his potential and it will be massively risky holding onto him but unlike Richarlison, the England international has not shown any desire to leave. Lampard is more likely to keep faith in a player who wants to remain at the club and fight for his place.

Which clubs are chasing Richarlison?

As per The Athletic, Everton are yet to receive any formal offers for Calvert-Lewin so, in the end, he is more likely to remain at the club. Newcastle United are interested in the forward but they are not ready to pay any absurd figure.

Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal have all been linked with Richarlison and if they get a sniff that Everton are ready to cash in on him, it won’t take time for a formal bid to come in.

The Gunners are focusing more on Gabriel Jesus and only when this deal is done will they shift to their other forward targets but Spurs and Chelsea are both actively chasing the Brazilian.

Antonio Conte is confident that Champions League football will be enough to lure him in but many experts believe Chelsea are actually the favourites to hold onto the Everton man.

On paper, all these three teams have an equal chance of signing Richarlison and since Frank Lampard is in need of funds, the manager will have to either sell the Brazilian or Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

An assurance of top-level football, trophies and regular playing time will be the key factors in helping Richarlison determine his future.
