Premier League side Chelsea have held talks with the agent of Robert Lewandowski as they look to land a new centre-forward before the new season begins – according to the Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail cites German reports: “Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Robert Lewandowski’s agent over a possible summer move as Thomas Tuchel steps up his search for a new striker this summer.

“The Champions League winners are desperately hoping to freshen up their front line as they prepare to mount an assault on the Premier League title with Timo Werner enduring a disappointing first season in English football.

“According to German outlet Sport Bild, Chelsea chiefs have already held initial talks with the Polish star’s agent, Pini Zahavi.”

Will Robert Lewandowski be ready to join Chelsea?

Like Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich have also made it clear that they do not wish to part ways with Robert Lewandowski so Chelsea face an uphill task here as well.

But, some rumours have suggested that after spending 11 years in Germany, the Polish international is now looking for a new challenge which could mean he is ready to move out of Germany.

There’s still a long way to go for anything concrete to come out of these talks but after this meeting, Chelsea will at least know if the striker is willing to join them or not.

Apart from Robert Lewandowski, the Blues are chasing strikers like Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku as well but all these players are going to cost a lot of money.

Kane, Lukaku and Erling Haaland are all valued at £100 million-plus by their respective clubs but according to TransferMarkt, the Bayern Munich centre-forward is valued at only £54 million.

It remains to be seen what the Polish international will decide but Bayern Munich are going to fight tooth and nail to hold onto their star striker since apart from Lewandowski, the Bundesliga side do not have any other top-class backups for that position.
