With a move for Erling Haaland proving to be impossible, Premier League side Chelsea FC have now shifted their focus to Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, as per The Sun.

The report claims: “CHELSEA will swoop to prise Robert Lewandowski away from Bayern Munich in a £50million deal.

“The Blues have tried in vain to persuade Borussia Dortmund to accept a players-plus-cash deal for £150m-rated hotshot Erling Haaland.

“That has forced the European champions to revive their interest in record-breaking Lewandowski as they try to give boss Thomas Tuchel the prolific goalscorer he wants.

“But Chelsea face a fight on their hands to bring Bayern to the negotiating table for the Poland international.”

Will Chelsea get their hands on Robert Lewandowski?

Robert Lewandowski joined Bayern Munich in 2014 and in 329 games, the Polish international has scored 294 goals and provided 65 assists.

He has two more years left on his current deal and Bayern want him to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club beyond 2023.

But as per the report, Robert Lewandowski is willing to explore other ideas and move out of Germany to join a new club in the future.

It’s still unclear if the player wants to move out this summer or not but this interest from Chelsea could not have come at a better time.

The Blues have just won the Champions League and are also willing to spend big to bring in a new world-class centre-forward for the next season.

And these factors could be really crucial in convincing both Bayern Munich as well as Robert Lewandowski to agree on a transfer. According to TransferMarkt, the 32-year-old is valued at £54m so he will cost significantly less than Erling Haaland.
