Lukasz Fabianski is currently sidelined with a thigh injury which is why Manuel Pellegrini has been forced to use Roberto Jimenez as his first-choice keeper.

And it’s frank to say that things haven’t turned out too well for either party.

This season Roberto Jimenez has featured in 7 Premier League games and has so far conceded a whopping 15 goals making him one of the worst keepers that the English top division has seen for a while now.

Last weekend against Spurs, the 33-year-old let three goals in and there have been strong rumours that Pellegrini has finally had enough.

As per the rumours, the West Ham United boss is currently giving a serious thought at dropping Roberto Jimenez from the first XI in order to use either David Martin or Joseph Anang for the match vs Chelsea.

But when the South American manager was asked this very same question during the press conference he refused to give a definitive answer.

“We will see. Our best starting eleven will play,” the manager told the reporters.

“Of course it is not a comfortable position. He knows about his performances, he played for big teams, he cannot be happy at this moment.
It is what has happened and he must try to improve.

“I want to see a team that never gives up, it is impossible to win when you concede three goals before 50 minutes of the game.

“But in both, especially against Newcastle and Spurs, we never gave up and scored two goals in the second half.”

Lukasz Fabianski was expected to return back to training sometime during Christmas but now the club have confirmed the chances of that happening look very slim meaning either Pellegrini will have to stick with Roberto Jimenez for the time being or make a bold call and drop him down the pecking order when the Hammers take on Chelsea.
