Belgium ran riot against Tunisia during their second Group Stage game of the World Cup – scoring 5 goals and the Red Devils are clearly one of the best sides in the tournament so far.

Roberto Martinez’s side did concede two goals but the performances of Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku clearly overshadowed every other bit of negativity that the Belgium side might have had.

It was captain Eden Hazard who opened the scoring after converting from the penalty spot and then the Chelsea playmaker went on to add another goal against his name in the second half.

Substitute Michy Batshuayi also put his name on the scoresheet scoring Belgium’s 5th goal of the game in the 90th minute.

But it was striker Romelu Lukaku who wrote his name all over the match with his brace which means that the Manchester United man is now tied for the Golden Boot with Cristiano Ronaldo(both at four goals each).

Romelu Lukaku’s performance was clearly a sigh of relief for many fans especially after captain Eden Hazard made some harsh comments about the striker after Belgium’s first game.

With the two goals, Romelu Lukaku didn’t only silence his critics(read: Eden Hazard) but also broke a 32-year-old record.

Romelu Lukaku became the first player since Diego Maradona to score multiple goals in consecutive World Cup finals matches.

The Argentine wizard was the last person to achieve this feat back in the 1986 World Cup – the tournament where Argentina went on to lift the World Cup.

Both Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku were taken off in the second half and it was pretty evident that Roberto Martinez had one eye on the game against England.

After Belgium’s 5-2 win against Tunisia, the pressure will now be on England to win their second match against Panama if they wish to top their group.
