Manchester United signed Romelu Lukaku from Everton back in the summer transfer window of 2017 for a transfer fee of around €85 million.

But during these two years with the club, the big Belgian has mostly disappointed everyone associated with the club.

Under Mourinho, Romelu Lukaku had seen a considerable amount of game time but the striker has without a doubt lacked the qualities needed to play for a club like Manchester United.

While Solskjaer has mostly chosen to stick with the forward ever since he was named the manager of the club back in December but now with the season coming to an end, the Man United boss clearly has other plans.

United have reportedly put Romelu Lukaku up for sale during the summer and it seems like Inter Milan is going to be his next destination.

Inter are said to name Antonio Conte as their new manager in the coming few days and the former Chelsea boss’ first transfer priority will be to bring in a new centre-forward.

While Inter do have Mauro Icardi at their disposal right now, but the striker’s future is clearly in doubt and Conte wants Romelu Lukaku to be his long-term replacement.

If reports are to be believed then Romelu Lukaku too is very keen on joining Inter Milan this summer and the Belgian international has already held talks with Inter’s representatives.

Manchester United will be more than happy to let Romelu Lukaku leave in they can recover the transfer fee which the club paid for him and this is currently the only stumbling block in the deal.

The club are yet to hold discussions over the transfer fee but some reports suggest that Inter should not be opposed to the amount being quoted by Man United.

If Romelu Lukaku eventually ends up leaving Old Trafford then Solskjaer is planning to utilize that money somewhere else and in turn, give Mason Greenwood a permanent promotion to the first team squad.
