Chelsea are out in the market looking for a new striker and one of the names that have been linked with the Premier League club is that of Romelu Lukaku.

Timo Werner has turned out to be a major flop for the Blues this season(despite scoring a handful of goals) and it’s like an open secret that Chelsea are looking for an alternative.

And after his fine goal-scoring season with Inter Milan, it’s being claimed that Thomas Tuchel wants to bring Lukaku on board before the 2021-22 season kicks off.

Antonio Conte has parted ways with Inter last week and since he was the one who brought Lukaku to the club, many people feel the Belgian international might no longer wish to stay at the club now that Conte has left.

Now though in a major revelation, Romelu Lukaku has come out to make his stance pretty clear and his statement comes immediately after Simone Inzaghi has been named as the new head boss at Inter Milan.

Lukaku told broadcaster VTM, as quoted by ESPN: “Yes, I am staying. I feel good at Inter.

“I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager,

“Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet but it was a very positive conversation. There’s also the challenge of doing it again [winning the league].”

Lukaku isn’t the only man who is on Chelsea’s transfer radar this summer as the club are also in the hunt for forwards like Erling Haaland and Harry Kane. But the Inter man was the one who had the least suitors so signing him would have been really easy. Also, he has scored 24 and assisted 10 goals in 36 Serie A games this season, so by signing him Tuchel would also be able to bring in an out-and-out goal-scorer.

But now this statement has turned all of Chelsea’s plans on its head as it seems like the forward has no intentions of moving out of Italy this summer.

The 28-year-old still has three years left on his current deal so finally, Inter Milan can breathe a major sigh of relief and as far as Chelsea are concerned, they will now have to shift their focus to either Harry Kane or Haaland, both of whom are hot property in the market.

The Blues do have the option to break Inter’s resolve by offering insane amounts of money for the forward but there have already been rumours that the Italian side are not keen to offload their biggest asset right now and they would much rather sell other players in the squad to try and balance out their books.
