Chelsea have been pushing to sign Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku over the past few days and they have already seen one offer knocked back by the Italians.

The Blues had made a cash-plus-player offer for the Belgium international but according to Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A side are not interested in this arrangement.

He updated on Instagram: “Chelsea are preparing a new bid to sign Lukaku this summer after opening proposal yesterday.

“New bid expected around €120/130m from Chelsea after first one turned down by Inter [€100m + Marcos Alonso involved in the deal]. Chelsea are now also offering Lukaku a long term contract for €12m net per season as salary. 🤝

“Now Inter board waiting for the official proposal from Chelsea to take a decision together with Romelu Lukaku on his future.”

Now, in a fresh update, Sportitalia’s transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà has claimed that Inter Milan are ready to send Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge but only if they were to receive a cash-only offer.

He wrote on Twitter: “Inter wait for offer only cash from 115-120 base plus any bonuses. The attacker and Chelsea they have perfected all the agreements.”

Will Chelsea agree on a cash-only deal for Romelu Lukaku?

Chelsea have reportedly made Romelu Lukaku their primary target right now so paying such a massive sum should not be a major problem for them.

The Blues are yet to make any marquee signings during the ongoing transfer window meaning they have significant funds to spare.

Yes, they are trying to bring in Jules Kounde as well but over the past week or so, their whole focus seems to be on landing Romelu Lukaku.

The forward has agreed on personal terms with his former and if this new report is true then it’s only a matter of time before he returns to the Premier League.

Chelsea are already willing to pay €100 million in their earlier offer now they just have to swap Marcos Alonso with another €15-20 million.
