The FIFA World Cup 2018 begins in two days time in Russia and before that everyone is trying to find bits and pieces as to which player will shine during the tournament.

Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi are without a doubt those two players who will be under immense pressure to perform but apart from these La Liga stars, there are a couple of others who can go and make the World Cup their own.

Players like Neymar, Paul Pogba and Harry Kane can all light up the World Cup but it was Cristiano Ronaldo who shared his thoughts on who might become the star of the tournament.

Talking to reporters on Monday, the Portuguese claimed that even though people hype the Messi-Ronaldo battle but he thinks Egypt forward Mo Salah is on the same level as them.

Ronaldo said: “Mo Salah has been one of the revelations of the year. I hope his injury in the final in Kiev doesn’t keep him out,

“Many people talk about the Cristiano Ronaldo-Messi battle but there are other players who have chances to enter the race. The Egyptian is one of them.”

Salah is currently recovering from the shoulder injury which he sustained during the Champions League final against Real Madrid a couple of weeks ago.

The Liverpool forward has shrugged away initial doubts that he might miss the whole World Cup by travelling to Russia with the Egypt squad.

Latest reports reveal that Mo Salah is almost fit and there is a high probability that the forward might feature for the Pharaohs’ during their opening game Uruguay on Friday.
