Chelsea midfielder set to move out with West Ham and Newcastle United interested

Ross Barkley Luton Town

Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has been linked with West Ham United but as per Claret and Hugh, the Hammers might miss out on the ex-Everton player since Newcastle United have also joined this transfer race.

The report claims: “West Ham may not sign Ross Barkley this summer, because he’s being linked elsewhere in the Premier League!

“The attacking midfielder is continually linked with a move to the Hammers because of his association with manager David Moyes, having played for Everton during his time as manager.

“However, The Athletic now reports that Newcastle United hold an interest in snaffling him away from Chelsea, where he has become a bit-part player at best.”

Ross Barkley to join West Ham United or Newcastle United?

Newcastle want to sign Joe Willock, who spent last season on loan at the club but should they fail to land him then the Magpies are likely to shift their focus to Ross Barkley.

Barkley has been a flop at Chelsea and he spent the 2020-21 season out on loan to Aston Villa. He has returned to Stamford Bridge but Thomas Tuchel has no plans of holding onto him.

And this is why the likes of West Ham United and Newcastle United will find it really easy to get their hands on the 27-year-old.

Now, the only thing left for them to do is convince the midfielder himself.

Even though Claret and Hugh think Newcastle United will turn out to be a formidable competitor but the Hammers have European football to offer – something which can be a game-changer.

Also, Newcastle will only move for the midfielder if they fail to bring back Joe Willock so West Ham United still have time on their hands.

Ross Barkley is totally useless to Tuchel’s plans at Chelsea next season and since he has only two more years left on his current deal, the Blues will not make too much of a fuss to let him leave.
