Man United legend Roy Keane could become the next manager at Celtic FC and if he gets the job then the current pundit is likely to bring in Nicky Butt as his No 2, according to The Scottish Sun.

The exclusive report claims: “ROY KEANE could bring in Nicky Butt as his No 2 IF he gets the Celtic job.

“The former Manchester United captain has been short-listed to replace Neil Lennon and has held talks with the Parkhead hierarchy over a return to management.

“And ex-Old Trafford team-mate Butt is being lined up to move north with him should Keane get the nod.”

Roy Keane is one of the names which has come to the forefront in recent weeks and given that the former midfielder spent a year with the Bhoys, there’s a big chance that he could become their next manager.

Nicky Butt was obviously his teammate at Manchester United and the academy graduate was associated with the club until very recently.

Butt was the head of first-team development at United but he has now left Old Trafford to pursue his own career, possibly in management.

Following his exit, he said: “Having come through the Academy myself to play almost 400 games for Manchester United, it has been an absolute privilege to come back and work with a new generation of talent making that same journey.

“I already know from my playing days how difficult it is to leave Manchester United. But it feels like the right moment for a new professional challenge.

“I look forward to exploring opportunities that build on the great experiences I’ve had here over the past nine years.”

Roy Keane and Nicky Butt will be a great combination in the Celtic dugout next season and with the vast experience that the pair could bring in, the Bhoys can once again lift the SPFL title.
