Marcus Rashford was dropped from Manchester United’s matchday squad for the derby and just when everyone was debating on what the future holds for the forward, Rashford has made some very blunt comments about his future.
Ruben Amorim had brushed off this incident claiming that dropping Rashford and Garnacho was a simple rotation tactic on his part but in an interview with Henry Winter, Rashford has revealed that he is ready to leave his boyhood club.
He said: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.
“If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.”
Will Ruben Amorim offer the 27Y/O a chance to show his worth?
Ruben Amorim has quickly come out and said that he wants Marcus Rashford to remain at the club and succeed under his guidance. However, we seriously think the forward’s time at the club is well and truly over.
The manager has said: “We are better with Marcus Rashford, that is simple and we will try different things to push Marcus to the best levels he showed in the past. And that’s all.
“This kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.”
There have been rumours that United’s management are ready to cash in on him during the January window but in a more practical scenario, Marcus Rashford will be sent out next summer. Obviously, if a good enough bid comes in then the INEOS owners will definitely sell him off but to get the ideal value, Manchester United need to wait until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Amorim has quickly found out that Rashford does not fit into his long-term plans but we don’t think the manager is going to risk losing such a talented player during the middle of this season. Man United are still fighting hard to get back into the Champions League and Amorim will want all hands on deck to achieve this. The likes of Zirkzee, Garnacho, Fernandes and Mason can all play on the left-hand side however, given how many players Ten Hag had missed due to injuries last season, Amorim won’t want a repeat of the same.
The 27-year-old might not be a consistent performer but there’s no denying that he is an impact player who has the ability to turn the tide. And since Manchester United are playing so many games, their manager will want as big a squad as possible.
As per the various rumours, Manchester United will be happy to bag in around £50 million and this money will be pure profit for the club because Marcus Rashford is an academy player.Marcus Rashford was dropped from Man United’s matchday squad for the derby and just when everyone was debating on what the future holds for the forward, Rashford has made some very blunt comments about his future.
